Fundus fluorescein angiography (FA), utilizing dynamic fluorescein changes, is employed to diagnose fundus diseases by revealing vascular circulation patterns within the fundus. A network is proposed, capable of creating high-resolution, multi-frame datasets of FA images. Within this network, a low-resolution GAN (LrGAN) and a high-resolution GAN (HrGAN) work in tandem. LrGAN produces low-resolution, full-size FA images with global intensity information. HrGAN processes these images to generate multi-frame high-resolution FA patches. The FA patches, lastly, are incorporated into the larger FA images.
By integrating supervised and unsupervised learning methodologies, our approach produces more favorable quantitative and qualitative outcomes than using either method alone. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated using quantitative metrics, including structural similarity index (SSIM), normalized cross-correlation (NCC), and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR).
